#AW2Photography Photo Mode competition winners showcase
We hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer (or winter for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere)! We’re currently hard at work on bringing you the second expansion to Alan Wake 2, The Lake House, later this year. Stay tuned for information and updates across our official social channels. But for now, let’s focus on the amazing photos you shared with us for the #AW2Photography Photo Mode competition!
Back in June, we released the Photo Mode for Alan Wake 2 as a free update for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X, giving you all the chance to capture the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the haunting dreamscape of the Dark Place. As the new update became available, we began seeing your great pictures, and to celebrate you, the community, we decided to hold the #AW2Photography Photo Mode competition, giving you all an opportunity to win some exciting prizes! The prizes of the contest were:
- First place: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU Founders Edition courtesy of NVIDIA
- Second place: Makia x Alan Wake Cultist longsleeve + The Art and Making of Control book
- Third place: Airam x Alan Wake thermos in a signed box + Oh Deer Diner mug charm
The response to this competition was enthusiastic and resounding, and we want to thank you all for your fantastic submissions! We’ve seen Alan Wake 2 in ways that we hadn’t even thought of before. Now without further ado, let us announce the winners. These were hand-picked by Principal Concept Artist, Juhani Jokinen, and Lead UI/UX Designer, Riho Kroll.
THIRD PLACE – Mykala Takes Pictures @MSTakesPictures
REMEDY – “The third entry offers a good variety of moods and compositions, with the portrait of Alan being particularly strong. Each image works on its own, yet they come together to form a cohesive set.”
SECOND PLACE – wild @ToastLad
REMEDY – “The second entry has strong compositions throughout and I particularly like the simplicity and restraint shown by the 2nd and 3rd shots. The entry has good variety without any of the images feeling out of place.”
FIRST PLACE – Teona @_DIEBU_
REMEDY – “The winning entry demonstrates a keen sense of composition and utilizes our layered visual motifs in a pleasing way. The Oceanview Hotel shot stands out as a particularly nice representation of the Dark Place. Also happy to see many of our color schemes represented.”
